High-stakes rehearsal
Practice rare and dangerous situations that cannot be staged live — fire, fall, haemorrhage, lock-out, evacuation — until the response is already in the body.

ScrollHong Kong · VR & MR training
Balloon Group builds mixed-reality simulations for the procedures, sites, and emergencies that cannot be practised live — until the first attempt already feels like the hundredth.
Our purpose
Since 2015 we have designed immersive training for hospitals, universities, construction groups, and manufacturers. Two hundred programmes later, the brief is still the same: let people fail somewhere safe, then perform somewhere real.
We are a Hong Kong studio with rooms in the Greater Bay Area and Beijing. We write the scenario, reconstruct the site, ship the headset build, stand up the laboratory, and stay for the data. XR is not the product. Competence is.

Capabilities
Practice rare and dangerous situations that cannot be staged live — fire, fall, haemorrhage, lock-out, evacuation — until the response is already in the body.
Repeat a procedure a hundred times without spending a kit, a site, or a theatre. Training becomes a system, not an event.
Every cohort meets the same environment, the same cues, the same pass mark. Assessment is fair because the world does not drift.
Time on task, error paths, hesitation, and completion are recorded. Trainers see who is ready — and who needs another pass.
Quest 3, Pico, HTC VIVE Pro and Focus. We design for the headset you already own, and advise when you should buy.
From a single room to a full XR centre: layout, devices, content, staff training, and the operating rhythm after launch.
Wards, theatres, and assessment suites. Over a hundred nursing procedures already live as immersive exams — expandable as curricula move.
Hazard identification, plant operation, lock-out, and line work. Digital twins of real sites so muscle memory matches the floor you will stand on.
Classrooms, laboratories, and unbuilt architecture. We also consult: content, venues, staff, and the operating model after the headsets arrive.
Selected work
ClinicalHong Kong Metropolitan University
A VR platform for nursing students to rehearse essential procedures in a risk-free ward, then sit the same scenarios as a standardised examination.
ResearchThe University of Hong Kong
Controlled immersive environments used to study how learners respond to visual saturation — informing tools for students who need a different kind of classroom.
SafetyConstruction group, Greater China
Workers walk machinery, falls, electrical, and chemical events before they meet them on a live deck. Safety stops being a video. It becomes a memory.
SpatialArchitecture & development
Mixed-reality walkthroughs of unbuilt interiors so clients, contractors, and planners share one spatial truth — scale, light, and sequence.
Compatible with Quest 3, Pico 4 Ultra, HTC VIVE Pro, and Focus. We specify the device to the task — not the other way around.
Commission a studyMethod
We sit with trainers, clinicians, or site leads and name the moment that currently cannot be practised. That moment becomes the brief.
Procedures, sites, and equipment are reconstructed as digital twins — photographed, scanned, or modelled to the fidelity the skill requires.
Scenarios, assessment logic, and headset builds are produced in studio. You review in the same hardware your people will use.
Cohorts go live. We watch the data, tune the difficulty, train your staff, and keep the environment current as protocols change.

Figures are starting points for a Hong Kong studio engagement, in USD. Every environment is scoped to the skill — not sold as a seat.

Voices
Students walk into the real ward having already failed, corrected, and passed the same procedure in simulation. The first live attempt is quieter. That is the point.
We used to show videos of hazards people only meet once in a career. Now they have stood next to the machine, chosen badly, and lived. Retention is not a slogan.
The environment is stable enough for research and alive enough for students. We could finally measure attention instead of guessing at it.
Briefing
A thirty-minute conversation with a producer in Hong Kong. Bring the procedure, the site, or the exam you wish existed. We will tell you whether simulation is the right instrument — and what it would take.
